Governmental agencies and nonprofits have the potential to possess unclaimed or lost assets for a variety of reasons. These entities are no different than our other clients. They may have overpaid and are entitled to a refund, or they may have been issued a check that never arrived in the mail. Additionally, they could be indebted due to a judgment or be the beneficiary of a settlement. Moreover, they may have been designated as the rightful inheritor of an estate that belonged to someone who has passed away, among other possible scenarios. Regrettably, a large number of our clients are not aware of the vast array of unclaimed or lost assets that they can claim.
